I have been sending money every month for 6 months to a collection agency for one of my credit cards. They had told me that the interest had stopped and that the amount I pay every month would be coming off of the balance due.
after several months, I realized that the interest had not stopped and only about $5.00 was coming off of the balance!
When I confronted them they said yes, the interest was still adding on and there was nothing they could do about it. I told them that I had documented what their employee told me and they said that she was wrong, sorry! They lied to me. Is ther anything I can do about this???

Thanks

Mindy

you have a couple options here, and its possible to have that interest removed. if the employee did indeed promise to stop the interest - do you have that in writing in the form of an arrangement statement from the original conversation? if not the second option to do is call the CA and ask for a supervisor. have them review the conversation as it appears in their computers. if you dont think it reflects what happened, then you have only one more hope - if the phone calls are recorded the supervisor can pull the call and see what exactly happened. hope that helps!
