Those that have settled..Were you able to do payment plans?

I have a large chunk of money owed to Citi and Chase - approx 70k. There is no way that I could pay them in one lump sum even at 30% settlement. What have been able to manage to get them to agree to?

I dont know about chase, but with citi i had an agreement for them to drop my interest to 0% over 12 months and that has helped alot and when that 12 months is up i am hoping that they will settle. As far as i know, if you want to settle your debt you have to pay it off at once, so start with a payment arrangement.
