National Debt Services - What are consumer reviews about this company?

Just recieved the same one today. I'm guessing its a new scam starting up. If it sounds too good, its always a scam.

I was wondering the same thing because I got the same letter in the mail as well. I know if national debt relief program ask for my credit card number or SSN I will not reveal that information and I will end the conversation.

The Stimulus Act of 2008 certainly makes it "sound" legit, but I'm very dubious of the offering. Is National Debt Services legitimate?

Got one today, looked up their website. They are basically a collection agency.

I got the same letter Monday,10/19; called and talked to a lady named Katie, she indicated that they did not deal with anything but unsecured debt. Ms. K. asked me how much was my unsecured debts and how much per month was my total payment on these, she did not ask any other personal questions but could I pay $525.00 per month to become debt free in 36 months. I indicated that the information was not available immediately and I would get back to her.

I just received my Form009-E. The form and the name of the service makes it sound as if it's a Federal Government program, like the Federal Reserve Bank.

there is no such form.look it up.this is a scam...BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got one, too. I noticed that the issuer is simply "Program Director." Easy way to avoid any names being mentioned...

Also, at the bottom is a disclaimer that this "product or service" isn't approved or endorsed by any government agency...

Have been doing some research. The MI BBB graded two companies using this same form with an "F" in August. Scam city, folks.

Be aware it might be scam.

SCAM...they are a debt settlement program that DESTROYS your credit....After working with them for only 2 weeks, and learning how they are hurting the clients, we parted company and they STILL havent paid me the monies owed me....Just the big guy always screwing over the little guy...STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!

i just received this letter 2 weeks ago, iv'e looked at it every day since and thought about calling. all i know is i have great credit and i own a house, and i dont want to lose either,so after reading your input ,i dont think im gonna make the call. thank you

National Debt Relief Program is certainly legit. I have been enrolled for 9 months and have received settlements for 3 of my 6 creditors already! I am excited about this. Yes, certain programs they offer affect your credit, but other ones that they have help your credit and are designated for people who want to keep their credit. I say check them out! they are completely open and honest about any risks involved in any program they offer.

How can you possibly say this? What do you actually know of the company. I worked with them last year and they put me into an interest rate reduction program that didnt affect my credit, lowered my int rates, and have shortened my time to get out of debt by over 20 years! I think you need to do some research. They do settlement programs also, but told me of all the risks involved in it. I think you may need to do some research.

If i were a person looking for help with my debt, i would give them a call. They truly can help. I did deal with a company originally that was a scam, and NDS helped me to get out of that and get on the right track.

I received satisfaction letters from all of my creditors and my score gradually rose up to 671 after the program! The program doesn't "destroy credit," DELINQUENCY DOES!! If you are behind, or going to fall behind sooner or later, your credit is gonna fall regardless.

one page says it's a scam.the second page takes the first page to task,and gushes about how great they are.the consumer can be the judge,but i still say scam.JMO.

I know nobody asked for my opinion, but I'm going to give it anyway:
I believe it is VERY irresoponsible of you to attempt to pass this company off as anything more than it is: a scam.
You are a human being, and you should consider it comes with responsibilities such as not taking advantage of people in vulnerable states, and not using the misfortunes of others to line your own pockets.

The fact that he argued personal opinions with "WE" tells me that he's probably the one writing all the Raving reviews on page 2.

I just received the same letter and when through Bankruptcy Court two months ago. This outfit really does its homework.

I think it is pretty easy to see what is a scam and what isn't.

Consider all of these facts about their unsolicited mailings:

- Sending out a notice on paper and envelope intentionally designed to look like a government form

- Listing address on the form made to suggest it is from a government agency of "National Debt Service, 1701 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Suite 300, Washington, DC 20006"

- Claiming that the "government economic stimulus act of 2008" is going to help with your own personal debt situation

- Having fine print on the bottom that says "This product or service has not been approved or endorsed by any government agency and this offer is not being made by an agency of government"


Yeah right, this is 100% legit. Cut me a break.

I just received this today. They are a collection agency. My guess is that they get people to contact them under the impression that they will help you pay your debt, but in actuality they are getting people to contact them so they can get on them to collect on their debts...

It's just a way for them to find people who owe a lot of money.

I received the same letter 2 months ago and didnt contact them because of this post. My husband and I tried every other option to get out of the debt and we hit a brick wall. He called them against my better judgement and signed up in their program.
and You know what Im very impressed they cut my interest rates lowered our payments and

They are the real deal
I have been in their program for 3 months. ALready have 2 settlemts. Bank of America 22% with 6 months to pay it off and Citi 35% with 4 months to pay
They even negotiated a lower payment on my car loan and saved me $75 per month.
I was able to go to their office in Brooklyn to sit down face to face.
Glad I did they helped me out alot.

I had a good experience with them as well.
They couldnt help me on my credit card debt because my rates are too low but they did negotiate a lower interest rate on my car loan. They saved me $53 per month.

I would be wary of any PRIVATE company who uses the word "National" in their name. They are trying to make you feel like they are a government agency.

my wife received this a week ago and she showed it to me. I instantly googled it.
After reading the reviews and understanding that you just can't listen to everything, good or bad. but I believe in old wise tales, because they ring true most of the time. The one that stands out in my mind is, "where there is smoke, there is fire". I'll keep googling till i find a reputable company with no negitive comments. They are out there!

I just got the Form 009-E also...I don't know how these people sleep at night! Hopefully they'll one day suffer the pain and stress they cause the deperate people who HAVE to trust them with their financial woes!!! SCAM!!!

I received the notice, I called to find out what's what with this. On the notice is 800 number, I have to use relay service to make calls since I am deaf, but not dumb!
Well I live in NJ, and the person I spoke to, was well not very knowledgebable and that she lives in Missouri. I had asked her if there was a rep that works in my state and if I can deal with this with a rep face to face, she says, I can t talk to you in person, Im in Missouri! I told her, that she did answer my question, when I asked about a rep that works in my state to meet that person and work with that person face to face. So immediately, I told her I cant deal with this over the phone, and for all I know, this could be a rip off.

feeling a little regretful i gave them my ss # like an idiot.... was on phone too long... starting getting worried when probed deeply enough to understand while it's not bankruptcy, your credit is basically frozen and you take a "significant hit" on your credit score.... which, of course, you can build up with good stewardship of your own credit in future, but still...

Last August, I received the letter they sent me and gave them a call. I enrolled into their program to free me of my $80k of credit card debt. 2 out of my 11 accounts have already been paid off and I am on my way to becoming debt free 3yrs from now. They are for real and not a scam. My wife and I are proof!!!

They pushed off fees to make a settlement on my Bank of America
They even lent me almost $1000 ( no interest ) to make a settlement because I was short in my escrow fund and coud not come up with the money.
How many other places would pay a protion of the settlment to help a stranger?
they took the loan back over the next 2 payemnts made.

Shame on you guys for lying on here.
