I'm not sure where to begin to take care of my pay day loans. These are over a two year period. They are all internet loans. Are these companies legal? I have no idea how much I have paid them. I only know how much I owe a few of them.

Instant Cash USA $300 - owe $540
Summit Group $300 - owe$430
My Cash Time - $300
Pay Check Today - $300
1000 easy payday loan $300 - owe $480
Sandpoint $200
Sagamore $250 - owe $325

I know I need to start paying them. Where do I begin and should I start with the oldest first? I want out of debt. I have some Smith Haynes & Watson leaving me threatening vm's at work. I have no idea what are they are collecting on but I'm putting a debt validation letter in the mail today. I have successfully gotten all of them off of my credit reports by sending cease and desist letters to the collection companies.

Are all of these Internet loans? I am going to post two links for you, one is your payday lender laws, the other is a data base for CSO's (Credit Service Orangizations). Some of these lenders could possibly be CSO's, therefore you will need to check in the CSO data base and make sure which are payday lenders and which are CSO's. CSO's do not legally follow the payday lender law and you will need to make payment arrangements with them or they will sue you. The others who are payday lenders, must follow Texas pdl laws.

You should also read the sticky about dealing with illegal pdl. I had Sagamore and they are illegal-not even in this country.

I also had smith haynes & watson leave a couple of threatening messages for me. I believe they were collecting for Geneva Roth. I never answer I have'nt heard from them in about a month now. By law a CA has to send you a dunning letter within 5 days of first contact and they did'nt so they probably are'nt licensed to collect or even a CA. The same guy called me 3-4 different times and sometimes he was from the pdl place and the next day he might be with these "law offices".
