Im currently 44 days late on my car payment. It is financed through Nuvell Financial. I've heard really bad stories about this companys collection practices. My question is how long do thet usually wait before they repo? Do they have to tell me before they do it? I live in WI and don't really understand the things I've read on it so far.

Any help is appreciated

Hmmm, well according to the Wisconsin State Bar: "Creditors now can declare consumers in default and repossess motor vehicles without court intervention. The enactment in April 2006 of 2005 Wis. Act 255 puts creditors firmly in the driver's seat and leaves consumers waving goodbye to their vehicles and consumer protections."

But yes, they must mail you a 15 day warning notice before they repossess. You can delay it by writing them a written demand to go to court first, within that period.

I had a loan with Nuvell and they were jerks. My husband was unemployed and they would not help out. I had to file BK to get them off my back
