Has anyone else heard that the first payment to progressive is non-refundable? I looked as hard as I could in the contract but only found where the fees were non refundable, not the whole payment. But it's possible I overlooked it

Can you tell us whether you are in a debt management program or in a debt settlement program with Progressive debt relief?
As far as I know, if you are in a DMP, the creditor can deduct only their fees and pay you back the remaining amount. But, if you are in a debt settlement program, they may take your entire first payment as their fees.

I e-mailed the woman back and asked why that wasn't in their co

I e-mailed the woman back and asked why that wasn't in their contract or told to people up front. She just replied that was forwarding the email to their quality assurances manager. I guess it was a debt settlement probram? What's the difference?

Seems to me a non-refundable fee would be required on the contract SOMEwhere. Ask the rep to explain to you where that information is located on the contract and see what her response is.
