filing an answer/notary required?

My husband, who works out of state, has been named in a lawsuit by Cap One. Since it's a 10 hour drive from work to home, I'm doing most of the paperwork for him. First, does an answer have to be notarized? Second, can I drop all of this off for him at the courthouse provided he's signed all of the documents (he has a notarized graduated denial), or does he have to do it in person? I anticipate having to also file demand for admissions, maybe interrogatories/motion for discovery. Must all of these be notarized?
You can drop it off for him! Notarizing it would be a good idea
You can drop it off for him! Notarizing it would be a good idea but I do not believe it is required! I am going by the law where I live! It may be different where you are!
Gosh what a quick reply! Thanks! We live in Illinois. Are you

We live in Illinois. Are you familiar with the procedures there? I can't find anything online - and certainly not on our county court's website, which is pretty rinky dink.
