I am new to the forum - have been lurking for a couple of days. I need help with my PDL in Alabama, and currently have the following loans:

PayDayOne Original loan 400.00 Have not paid any
United Cash Loans original 500.00 have paid 200.00 on principal
FastMoney911 orginal was 400.00 have paid 105.00 on principal
Upfront Cash Original was 400.00 have only paid interest
Pan Am Cash orginial was 400.00 have only paid interest.

I have gone to my bank and closed account - they didn't seem to understand about a hard block, but the branch manager was not there - am going to a different branch tomorrow and try to talk with them.

I have looked at the sites regarding Alabama but I can't figure out who is legal and who is not - but they are all in violation except for Pay Day One because I had more than one pay day loan when they were issued. I don't recall being asked that by anyone except Pay Day One.

So, is my next step to send the ACH revocation letter, or what? I have confused myself reading all of the different posts on here I think.
Thanks, Diana

The link below is for your payday loan laws.

Alabama requires internet based pdl's to be licensed by your state, only one of yours is, that's Payday One, you could request the EPP (Extended Payment Plan) from Payday One. I would focus on the legal ones first if I were you and the only legal one you have is Payday One. I'm sorry to tell you this, but there is only one sure way to stop the withdrawals, and that is to close your account. If that isn't an option, then tell the bank to put a hard debit block on your account. Before you close your account, read this information at the link below. http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/close-account.html

Please do not let any of these pdl's know you are going to close your account, until AFTER you have done it!

I have already closed the account, but the lady didn't seem to know how to deal with the hard block. What I thought I would do is take the letters I was going to write to the others (not PayDayOne) regarding the ACH revocation and talk to a branch manager (my branch manager was off this week). I am just afraid they will try to hit the account regardless so am going to try to get the debit block on there first. Then I thought I would email the letters to the others and go from there. Does that sound correct?
I know that then I need to report the others to the BBB and the state, is that correct for my next step?

I appreciate your prompt reply to my original email and look forward to hearing from you as I go through this process. I had originally been going to sign up with PDLAssistance, until I got the contract today which is the first time I realized they were going to charge me a total of 1000.00 to eliminate this 2200.00 debt - and I just can't see doing that. This website has given me hope. All of this has come about by my husband passing away suddenly last July and I have not been thinking clearly since - but am starting to get it together hopefully. I really appreciate all the insightful things I have read on this forum.
