I am considering using Truecredit.com for $14.95/mo. to monitor my reports. I am wondering about others experience with them. Was it easy to cancel your subscription?

Thanks!

I have been a member of Truecredit for years and it is great. They changed their policy where you can only check your score once every 30 days. So the days of checking your score everyday are no more. I am not aware of any negative affects with this. My wife is actively repairing her credit and checks it every 30 days, so she can work on her game plan for the month.

It is also great as they send you an email anytime something changes on your credit score. This worked out for me just the other day. There was a mix up with my payment and a CC showed me as being over my limit. I got the email alert, called the CC company, got the fee removed and all is good.

I highly recommend it.

I used to be a fan of Truecredit and used them for about 3 years, until they implemented their policy that you can only pull your credit once every 30 days.

Granted your info doesn't change much in a month. But I had gone out for a new car in May, and I wanted to see how many lenders the dealer sent my application to (ie how many inquiries I had). Truecredit wouldn't let me because I had just pulled my report a week earlier.

I called and complained, told them they purport to give me "unlimited access to my credit report." Which the rep wittingly told me "you do have unlimited access ... to view your most recent report." After going on for a while with no results, I told her to cancel my account.

Then she started to give me script about how beneficial their service is, blah blah blah, trying to get me not to cancel. I said "if you want to keep me as a customer, let me pull a new credit report right now." Well she couldn't do that, but still kept going on with her script. I flat out told her to stop reading her script and cancel my account, and she would not stop reading. I finally asked for a manager, and she asked why? I said "because I want to cancel my account and you won't stop reading your script." So she finally cancelled it.

i have both truecredit and freecreditreport which is with Experian, honestly, the freecreditreport with experian has been better to me, I get the alerts faster from them than I do from truecredit. One alert I got and it was actually an inquiry with transunion, i got the alert from freecreditreport a day before truecredit and truecredit is by transunion, go figure. Just my experience, I've had both for several months now, I fixin to let one of them go, just wanted to see which was better.

I have TrueCredit monitoring. I am going to cancel and get another service. Let me tell you why.

When updating my 3 credit reports, Truecredit's system went down. I was signed in and couldn't get the updated information. That was on June 28. I tried several times that night. I got no updated report until July 4. You must wait 30 days to get the next updated 3 credit reports.

So, depending on how you look at this....I missed getting an update for one month and still had to pay for it. (got June's reports in July) TrueCredit would NOT refund me even though it was their system that was down.

Another reason to cancel: The phone staff at TrueCredit are not friendly, or understanding that their system was down. Also, the phone staff all have extreme accents and are had to understand.
