I have a question. I had a CC charged off, but it is paid in full. The first 30 days late was in Sept 04 and the last charge off reported was in Sept 05.

So will this come off in 2011 or 2012???

Also is there any way to get it off my report any earlier?

Thanks

No, charge off can never be removed from your credit report before seven years and 180 days from the date of your first delinquency. So it will come out of your report by March 2013. You can however try to remove it from your report by disputing the listing with the bureaus.

You can dispute anything whether it is true or not. Find a sample letter (there are many available) and send it to all three agencies certified mail disputing the mark on your credit report. The burden is on them to verify it and they have 30 days to do it. If they cannot verify it or run out of time, they have to remove it. If you get one of the bureaus to take it off, send that information to the other two. You can dispute a claim every 30 days. It is perfectly legal and cannot hurt your score in anyway, so you have nothing to lose. Make sure you send it certified mail, so you have a record of when your letter is received and you can start your 30 day count.
