I talked to some people at Oakview yesterday and they said that they could reduce my $95000 debt down to $45000 by negotiating. They did not explain anything more than just "negotiating". They will charge 10% of success, and enrollment fee which is around 1000. I would be "Debt free!" in 48 months of paying $1500 a month.

Are they reliable? Has anyone used these guys??

BTW, if you're an employee at Oakview, or an employee disguised as a borrower to give good ratings... pleases stay out of this. I actually heard that someone who works there got caught using a different ID to encourage people to join Oakview.

I have heard good and bad things about them , but mostly good. By the way , I would be willing to bet that almost every settlement company that has a topic about them on this site has had an employee probably post a fake testimonial here :).

If I were you I would try to do a faster program than 48 months. When you try to go out farther that 3 years in a settlement program your risks of lawsuit are much higher, actually almost certain you will get sued by at least one creditor in a 48 month program. As far as the fees go , Oak View's seems to be pretty reasonable compared to other companies. Most charge around 15 % . Overall I think you would be OK choosing Oak View but I would suggest you shop around and compare.

I just signed up w/them last Friday to handle several online payday loans I've gotten caught up in. I chose them based on their BBB rating (A-) as well as the fact that they were the ONLY payday loan consolidation company that I could find a BBB rating on at all. Like I said, I'm new to the program, but we'll see how it works out. I have $4,000 in loans, have repaid $4,500 and still owe $3,900, which is just insane. My payments to Oakview are $300/month, and I'm in a 6 to 7-month program.
