5 yr old Debt with BofA

I have a cc with BofA that i have not made a payment too in 5 years. I am past the SOL here in california. I want to try and get a house, but i need to clean up my credit first. On my credit report it only says that BofA charged off the account for $5600, it does not say sold to colletction agency. How do i go about finding this debt? Should i contact BofA? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
