Hi I have 4 cards totaling $42,000 they are about 4 months late I had lost my job went that whole time on unemployment. Luckily I found a job started in mid May I make around $41,000 a year. I was making $68,000. My question to you is I would like to do a dept settlement with a company rather then BK because I own a car value $9000 and a Motorcycle value $10,000 If I do a chapter 7 I risk the chance of losing them. Can I do a chapter 13 with this income and keep those items? Is there a means test on a chapter 13 to even see if you quilfy to be put in the program? From things I read a chapter 13 is a horror for some people. Then again are there any safe debt companys that wont rip you off? I have followed your post and you seem very helpful and caring. Any advice you can give would be greatly appricated.Keep up the good work!!!

Florida exemptions for vehicles are lousy....only $1000. (I am planning a move to Florida in the next couple of months so I have brushed up on the laws there...)

How many cards do you owe?? Creditors? Balances??

What part of Florida??? The shuttle just took off it's cool you can always go out and watch...And it is warm but you do adjust to it over time. Thanks again for your help just trying to figure out the best plan and do whats right.

It doesn't sound like you are BK. I would avoid that at all costs. Try to settle out the accounts if you can. BK is not the answer. Buy the book "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey. This will certainly help with your decision.
