Webpayday sent my loan to them. They are threatening a lawsuit. I borrowed $700 and paid back $125. I have been trying to work out payment arrangements with webpayday but they never e-mail me back.

Does anyone know anything about Goldman Roth Acquisitions?

Can they sue me?

Should I make payment arrangements with them if they will work with me or should I require everything in writing?

They said if I request documentation, that will begin the lawsuit process.

Please help!!!!!

If Goldman Roth purchased your debt from the OC, they can sue you to recover the debt, but for that they need to validate the debt first. I think you should send them a DV letter by certified mail and on getting it validated, you can negotiate for a payment plan. Before you start making payment, always get the agreement in writing.

First: what state are you in?

Always.

A blatant lie. In fact, if you dispute, THEY CANNOT SUE YOU until and unless they provide you with verification of the debt.

BUT, they also have to send you, in the mail, a dunning letter detailing the alleged debt, how to dispute it, and the name and address of the original creditor.

I'm in MI.

Original creditor was webpayday.com. I believe they are not legally allowed to lend in MI. They have broken every MI PDL Law; exorbinant fees, roll-over, and lending more than the allowed amount ($600).

Original loan was for $700. Paid $250 in fees. Goldman Roth says I owe $1440.

I'm in MI.

Webpayday. com is the original creditor. I believe they are illegal in my state. I know they broke every MI PDL Law; high fees, roll-over, and loans over $600 max.

Original loan was for $700. I paid $175 in fees. Goldman Roth wants $1440.

HELP.....

I believe I only owe them the $700 since the loan was not legal in my state. Since I paid $175, I really only should have to pay them $525.

Does this sound right?

I'm in the process of working with PDL Assistance for my outstanding web pay day loans, I was contacted yesterday by Goldman/Roth but they didn't state what they wanted or my debt amt. Only that they will start proceedings with my local court system. Should I just send them to PDL Assistance?

Have you provided PDL Assistance with all the information? Have you send the validation letters to Goldman? Have you let Goldman know you are working with PDL?

I have just had a major showdown with Goldman Roth. They contacted me saying I had a debt of $1300 dollars to a petland account. After numerous calls to my ENTIRE family, leaving threatening messages, telling me that aquiring a lawyer would not do a bit of good, and I would still lose my lawsuit, to saying.. get this... "The bank that is suing you has received a bailout from the government. They are coming after all defaulted accounts so that they can pay the government back"... :/ to telling me that I now owe 4,000 dolllars with 29% Interest. And that the only way I could pay it was if I paid in full in the month of January. Wtf? Well, I was tired of them calling me, so I just paid it. In February!! They make up extreme lies to manipulate you into doing what they want. If I were you.. I would tell those f$%$#@$$% to F$%$#@$% themselves... and to have a nice day! :)

Same thing happened to me with these guys...I contacted an Attorney because the debt is not even mine and whoever the debt belongs to it is over 20yrs old. They would not send me any paperwork to try and prove it was mine, contacted my family, neighbors, people I went to High School with. Lied to them all saying he was a private investigator and telling them I was in serious trouble, told my 1 friend that he was an attorney represting us with our sons serious injury...They reply to the lawsuit was that they denied everything..My Attorney is going after them big time now..I have Voicemails saved that both I and my friends saved, I have my phone records showing this guy called my house non-stop. 1 day he called my house 22 times. They are evil!! They are a scam debt collection agency..The money people give them is their paycheck. It does not get sent to the supposedly creditor. The guy that was harrassing me and my family and friends, well the name he used is not even his real name. I found all of this out from my Attorney....SO WATCH OUT!! If they dont show you proof that the debt is yours DO NOT PAY!!! They will threaten you, harrass you etc...When in reality they are just trying to scare you to get your money. There is no truth to what they say....
