I recently disputed some items on my CR thru the credit bureau online. I learned after the fact that I should have sent a letter instead. Anyways, I received an email that they had been "verified" and another site said I should respond with Method of Verification. Should I do that or send a DV letter to the CA or OC? And how do I know if the OC still owns the debt but has the CA collecting on it, or if it had been sold? Mind you these are about 3 1/2 year old debts. Like I said, I'm not credit savvy but would like to clean up my credit. Any advice would be helpful thank you :)

You can do both - send a method of verification to the credit bureaus as well send a debt validation letter to the creditors. You can ask for debt validation both from the OC as well as from the CA. If the OC has already sold off the debt to the CA, they will inform you about that.
