I took out a payday loan with a place called cash net. I made the first 2 payments. Then I lost my job. The 3 payment was due July15th. I have no money to pay it. I called cash net and told them I have lost my job. Now a man named Mike Hargrove is calling my house telling my wife we are going to be sued. Telling her that I am a criminal and Im going to jail. He called her 5 times yesterday. She said his english was broken and she couldnt understand him. So she keep asking him to repaet what he had said. He started yelling at her so she hung up.

I am looking for a job and will pay as soon as I can. I dont want this man calling my wife. How do I make this stop.

Is this CashNetUSA that you are referring to? Is this an internet loan? Are they ach deducting your account? If so have you closed your account to secure your money? First thing is to determine if this is an illegal lender. If you answer the questions I asked that will help.

Second tell your wife to stay off the phone with them if at all possible. If you have caller id just don't answer. If you have voicemail let all calls go to vm and then check the message and if its someone else call them back. If she does slip up and answer as soon as she knows its them tell her to just hang up. Its my opinion that the more you talk with them the more they are going to call so just ignore them and after a week or two they will chill out. If you don't have any money to pay them there is nothing to say to them anyway.

If they are legal they can sue you although you cannot go to jail for owing someone money-we'd all be there and the jails are already over crowded as it is. where would they put us all? can you imagine!? lol

it is Cash Net, not CashNetUsa. Yes internet loan. And yes they are deducting from my checking account. I called them and told them I had lost my job, and ask if they would not take anything out of my account on July 15, my wife was receiving some money on July 17th. And I asked if they could take it out on the 17th. They said NO! They took it out on the 15 and overdrafted my account.

Should I close my account?

I had to leave this morning for a job interview and my wife said the phone has been ringing off the hook! She answered it twice and it was the same guy as yesterday, so she just stopped answering it on her own. yesterday by the time I got home she was crying.

how do you determine if Cash Net is a legal lender? I can close my account there isnt any money in there anyway.

What state are you in? My advice is NOT to talk to them period. If they are making ridiculous threats like that they can't possibly be a legit company! If my memory serves me correctly, they are located somewhere overseas. Either don't answer the phone at all when they call, or hang up immediately, they will tire sooner of talking to thin air then if they have someone to argue with.
