In 1987 I co-sighed a car loan for my son and assumed the loan had been paid off, wrong, Yesterday 6/20/09 22 years later I received a letter from an attorney demanding payment, in all those years I never received a past due notice.

If the attorney calls back ask him for his address, as you will
If the attorney calls back ask him for his address, as you will be sending out a debt validation letter. You want a copy of the original contract in which you signed. If they cant produce the original the debt can not be validated.
Also tell the attorney anything further will have to come through the mail.
