Did you file chapter 13 jointly with your wife?
I don't think that your monthly payments will go up if your wife gets a job. How much you will pay per month will be decided by the bankruptcy court when your bankruptcy gets discharged.

The answer to your question is yes. I speak from personal experience the trustee is asking for my payments to go up from $675/month to $1075/month for remainder of chapter 13 plan two more years. The trustee request cam from seeing our Tax returns showing we made more money due to my wife working (new job after filing).

Chapter 13 was set up to specifically punish anyone making over $XXXXX annually (the means test and it varies from state to state) - that said, a 13 will screw you if your income increases, your spouse gets a job, you try to sell your car, etc. You cannot buy something without permission and God-forbid you need to replace your furnace or car. I am so glad I stopped mine before I was trapped into 5 years with an 85% payback! Of course this option might work for some people, but in my case it would have been a disaster for 5 years.
