Garnishment

Hi All,
I just received a notice from my payroll department that they will be garnishing me 25% of my paycheck this week. I'm freaked out...as I, like many have bills to pay. Can they take my entire paycheck? It states 25%..but ya never know.

What state are you in, what was this debt for, did this creditor
What state are you in, what was this debt for, did this creditor get a default judgment against you in a court of law? 25% is the limit of any garnishment.

I am in New Jersey and unfortunately have had a recent garnishment because of a judgment for an unpaid credit card bill. Shazzers is absolutely correct (as always). 25% is the max.
