Texas Store Front PDLs
Date: Tue, 07/21/2009 - 22:20
I am desperately trying to get rid of these storefront loans.
how can you tell if a company is legal or not?
I have had my mom close her account
I have sent out C&D letters
I have also called a few to negotiate but they all want cash in person
Is it better to send PIF letters to the storefronts or the parent company?
the stores are:
EZ Cash
Check n Go
Advance America
Ace Express
Cash in Advance
Quick Cash
Cash America
Fed Cash
Any help is appreciated.
As far as I know Check n Go is legal. You can check the license
As far as I know Check n Go is legal. You can check the license database of Texas by visiting the link "http://168.39.159.59/default.asp" to check whether the other lenders are licensed or not. Can you tell me how much do you owe to each one of them?

Store fronts are operating legally. They can and will sue yiu for non payment.
You can request an EPP ( extended payment plan) which allows you to repay in 4 installments, with no additional interest and fees.
The store fronts need to be members of the CFSA to evoke this
You need to go in and make arrangements asap, especially since you have already closed your account.
I'm guessing that an EPP is not going to work in this situation
I'm guessing that an EPP is not going to work in this situation with 8 legal loans. Unless you have the money to pay thise off, your mom really only has 2 choices:
1. Call the Corp Office for each one and explain the situation honestly. They may have an alternate plan.
2. Explore BK.
I am assuming that your mother is older and on social security. If this is true, she more than likely has a high amount from each one. What is her approximate age, income type and amount due to each lender? These are important questions.
Also, does she own her home or rent?
