I live in the state of New york. Lately I've started to receive calls from Tata&Kirlin. My research results show them as a Law agencies. I was sitting at my computer waiting for a business call when the phone rang and a women asked for me. She then began to tell me I have an outstanding debt with Sears. I did have an account with Sears but that was in the early 80s. Because of health reasons, I had to stop working, fell behind in my bills. During that time, I was sued and received an civil judgement for the account. I remember this stayed on my credit reports for a long time.
When I told the woman the account was pass the SOL, she said it went into default 2002. How? Until now I have'nt heard or received any thing from any one concerning this account. So why all of a sudden this account is resurfacing?
Could someone please explain this to me? What should I say or do when they call again?
