i had a similar call from buffalo but from another company and they threatened me with the sheriff and so i filed a complaint with the FTC. be careful! tell them you want to verify information first like who are the collecting money from and tell them you want to speak with the original creditor to verify who they are and also verify with the actual court for that case number. they got mad at me when i told them i just wanted to verify who they were and threatened me with the sheriff again so i started laughing and said "really? will they bring handcuffs?" that really made him mad and said bye and hung up on me. they directed me to a website but anybody can set up a website. well, after waiting 5 days after being threatened that the sheriff will be at my house in 48 hours from the original call to arrest me, i spoke to the police and sheriff in buffalo and then went to my local precinct. the police all laughed and said they could care less about arresting people for their debts and that you can't go to prison for owing money. well, the original creditor didn't know who that CA was so i called the FTC.

I just received another call from Hiller & Hoffman, they are doing collections for Cash Supply. They stated that I am being sued for breach of contract. Can they really do this? I think that IPDL's are illegal in Kentucky.

This sounds like a call I got, but from (716) 204-7554. They gave me a case number on my voicemail and said I need to call Joe Gallo and to hire an attorney because "I'll need one". I hadn't called back yet because I wasn't sure if they were legit.
