I tried negotiating with the original lender and it got no where, so it went to collections last week..

They keep calling me and i tell them to send me a letter and i will dispute it and to not call me but they keep calling me, now they are calling my wifes cell phone saying they have been unable to get ahold of me..

I just got off the phone with the agency and told him to not call me or my wife, that i will dispute the dept in writing once i get a letter from them and know who they are and where to send the letter...

He asked me why i am disputing the charge and i said i will dispute it only in a letter form because i know he doesnt care and is simply trying to do his job.

Its easy for me to ignore their phone call, but my wife is all pissed off because they are calling her cell phone..

how do you make it stop? I thought that once you tell them to not call you they could no longer call you?

Thanks!

Yeah i got their request letter as well yesterday so maybe i will resend it.. technically my cell phone is my work phone since i am self employed and its my only phone.. BUt they keep calling my wife's cell phone as well..

They actually just called.. not sure why? I just told them yesterday that i contest the debt, not sure what a phone call is going to change..

The other weird thing is that its a lease turn in thing... i just checked my credit report and they reported the lease termination as "paid or paying as agreed, account closed" which i found weird, they want me to pay the extra mileage and i turned it in a few months early....

$3500 is all that is, i offered $2500 to the origianal car company but they wouldnt take it.. they were stuck on $2750 for some reason..
