I opened a Jessica London charge account.I placed and order and received it without any problems. The next time I placed an order I was told I could not because my address was flagged. After several phone calls it appears my 35 year old daughter who lives with me has a credit account and is behind in payments.
This company will not achknowlege that we are two different people.I have nothing to do with her business and she does not with mine. When I applied for the credit card it was in my name,my social security number and Im sure they checked my credit. Can they do this ? is it legal ?

Whether the creditor will offer you the money or not depends on entirely on him and while offering you further credit, he may consider the possible risk associated with it. So I don't think it is illegal.
Now, since you and your daughter stay at the same address, he may consider it risky to offer you further purchases using your card, because the same address gets reflected in their database as delinquent. However, they cannot report your daughter's debt in your credit report. If they do so, it is illegal.
