TCF sucks the big one.Always has. For awhile here a lot of merchants wouldnt accept TCF checks cause they had such a bad rep of bouncing.

I've had a TCF account for about 5 years, and never had a problem. Although they used make money orders for free, but last time I tried to make one they said it costs $5 now.

I like TCF just because they are in all the Jewel stores here, so it's easy to find an ATM if I need one (and they have a branch right next door to my apartment). So its more location for me than anything.

i was thinking about opening an account with tcf, but they only have like 5 locations in my whole state, besides that i googled them and found pages and pages of people complaining. between that and the location issue i decided not to do it.

Well, Bastoops, I would be in the same thinking category as you. I don't much like dealing with anything that I can not personally visit with only a short drive. It is best, in my opinion, to deal with an entity within your town.

exactly.being in IL tcf's are everywhere,but they are not for everybody.i was reluctant as well,but three years and no problems.one i wouldn't touch is NATIONAL CITY.

anyone have any experiance with us bank?

We used US Bank at my last job (8 years ago). Never had any problems; then again, we had a business account.

my husband has been with them for many years and loves the account.

thanks. i dont worry too much when i see alot of bad complaints against a company, i know the general population as a whole there is no way you can please everyone. as long the company doesnt have anything major like being sued or investigated then i think its based on a personal opinion that i will have to form on my own.
