thanks for the info. i'm trying to work it out with compass, i just dont know why the girl is not doing anything. on july 17th we had to freeze our old account and open a new one. no big deal right. well to this day we still havent received our debit cards for our new account. and our old account we withdrew all our money that day, the way they posted everything it charged us 3 nsf fees for 38 dollars each, now the girl is saying we have to bring the frozen account current. she said she tried to pull it out of our new account but there wasnt enough money. i told her to reverse the nsf fees because she knows as well as i do the money was there, they just posted all the transactions before the deposit. i dont want to put my money into that account because she still hasnt reversed the nsf fees like she said she would do 3 weeks ago. and i dont want her pulling money out without my authorization. i just think its a bunch of crap.
hard to deal with
Compass can be very hard to deal with. My guess is that they will end up not opening a new account for you. If you ahev been reported to EWS, they will not for sure. Most people reported to chexsystems are also reported to EWS. They may have found this out when trying to open the new account.
As far as the banks listed
* Arizona Federal Credit Union
* Armed Forces Bank
* TCF
Arizona Federal Credit Union now uses EWS as well. If you have been reported to EWS, do NOT apply, they will open the account and then close it about a week later.
Armed Forced Bank uses chexsystems but has been known to be lenient at time depending on what your chexsystems report actually says
TCF uses EWS and chexsystems but is known to make exception as long as you are not reported to EWS and do not owe them any money

i ended up going with us bank. they have alot of bad reviews on the internet but so does compass and pretty much every other bank. i explained to the lady there might be some issues, she called me back a few hours later and said everything checked out and i was able to get a gold checking account. hopfully it works out. basically most people that complain are people who bounce their accounts. i'm pretty good about knowing how much money i have, so i shouldnt have any issues.

i'm glad to hear that. i hate switching to a new bank because you never know what will happen. one time on my chase account they rearranged all my purchases and then posted my direct deposit after everything. it was a big mess. i just dont get how they can charge an nsf if the money is in your account. but i'm hoping for good things with us bank.
