Hi,

I have their mailing address, but cannot find their phone number.

Does anyone know it?

They left a voice mail on my cell phone saying that they were contacting me about a debt and they would use anything they could find to get the money i supossedly owe. which is funny because until a couple months ago i was a straight cash man no credit or anything and i never bought something i couldn't afford. Also i have a new nuber to add to the list it is
1-866-435-1646

I don't have an address, but the phone number was picked up by my answering machine. It is 614-333-8404.
I never answer my phone until I know who is calling but having the phone ring at all hours even tho' we are on the National Do-Not-Call list is very annoying.

I came to this forum to get details on AI, Thank you for posting the info. I, personally, will send these guys a cease and desist letter so they will stop harassing me. I don't deal with or even recognize collection agencies. I believe by law they can call you, at home, during reasonable hours, once a day. If you send them a certified letter to cease and desist they must stop calling. If anyone would like, I can post a form letter that anyone can use. I would never pay a collection agent anything. Pay the original creditor only and if you are a shrewed negotiator you can settle the debit for nickels on the dollar and have the derog. removed from your credit report.

Jerr, I would certainly like a form letter if you have time to post it. These people have been driving me nuts.
I have gone to my states Attorney General and got the home phone calls to stop, since that phone has NEVER been in my name.
They are after me claiming I owe a power company $425 from 1989!!!!!!!
I have called the power company and they show no record of me at all. They told me that debt was written off after 7 years.

allied interstate contacted me today. They said damn, shit and then hung up the telephone. When I contacted the number back, they claimed they had no record of anyone calling, then they asked about a person I don't know. The telephone number is
1-888-290-7859.

Please give me the steps to report these idiots to the AG and anyone else

I received threatening phone calls (offensive/abrupt/rude) as did elderly family.

What is worse --NOT MY account and the user is under criminal charges since the account was CLOSED.

American Express can be blamed for this. 2nd time they've let a closed, stolen account --this tops it!

I would like to talk to someone and make sure I do whatever I can to shut allied interstate and all their pathetic SR. OFFICERS (!) down.

How is it that these agencies can continue to operate when they are abusive, lying, and generally scamming people? Is there nothing to completely shut down this particular type of CA? I have no problem with legitimate companies who will work with the clients and speak with them respectfully (unless otherwise provoked, of course); but these jerks like AI just gripe me backside.

I too am on AI's calling list, and I don't take their calls, and they don't leave messages. I figure if it was legitimate, I'd have received a letter and/or they would leave a message on my machine.

I do have there number 775-319-1506.
I just spoke with a manager from this company tonight and he threatened to ruin my credit if he didn't have a letter from sprint showing I paid by first thing tomorrow morning. I thougt they were just someone acting like they worked with a company to recieve credit card info. Vince the manager kept warning me that our conversation was being recorded. I couldn't even believe he was talking to me like that and all of this for 130.00 dollars and it was a mistake on sprints part. They were so unprofessional that I just knew it was fraud.

I called these people and some woman from a vacation sales dept answered. I asked why the hell they are calling me saying I have a debt with them.
I was transfered to allied(spell correct?) and they said that they did not call me and I was NOT in their system!
I told her that they were on my caller id and she told me I was wrong and they never called me.
What ever!

They were reluctant to give me any information, and kept trying to get me to pay by credit card or Western Union.. I finally managed to get this address from them:

allied interstate
3000 Corporate Exchange Drive 5th Floor
Columbus, Ohio 43231

If I had to guess, I'd say the reason they're trying to avoid communication by mail is because they want to avoid Cease and Desist letters being sent, which means they won't make any money.. they kept offering me a discount if I would pay immediately..

Hi all,
Just came upon your site today.
allied interstate called my brother yesterday, is this legal?

Also, I don't remember the account I owe for but it has been at least 6 years since I had the account, more likely 7 or 8, but is the SOL when an account is written off by the credit card company, or is it when the account was purchased by the ca? I have to believe the sol is up, but since they called my brother, they must know this too. they claimed my brothers number was a reference.

Thanks.

The SOL starts from the date of last payment and can be renewed upon another payment, acknowledgment of the debt or a promise to pay. Also the SOL varies from state to state, if you are unsure of yours you can check my signature link for a guide by state.

Also if it is your debt and they disclosed the fact that you owe a debt to your brother and he does not appear on the account as a authorized user (cosigner, etc.) it would be a third party disclosure and therefore a violation of the fdcpa.

A heavy accented man keeps calling me at work on an account that I do have but am current with, never been late. He tells me this MUST BE PAID TODAY. I think he is a fraud and a scam.

I have gotten a couple of recorded calls from AI in the last 2 weeks. It is a recorded message that states who they are & that any information will be used to collect a debt. It just keeps looping & saying the same thing over & over, no real person ever comes on the line? We don't have any debt so don't know why they are calling our number. The message never gives any contact info. Has anyone else had this experience? Thanks.

I repeated get calls concerning the debt of a person I do not know. I have repeatedly told them they have the person is not at my number and remove my number from their call list. In blatant violation of FDCPA, they do not identify the company (CallerID and verbally), they hang-up immediately to avoid request to do not call, and will call back and hang-up immediately if you do request they do not call. I now file each phone call on the FTC Do-Not-Call. With others (WFNNB), I also filed complaints with my state Attorney General, OH Comptoller, and the BBB of Central Ohio.

Now that I have locations for AI, I can file complaints with the respective state AGs and BBB.

i had paid allied 156$ by check as a settlement for a sprint bill. this was the first time ever in collection so when i didn't receive any confirmation letter i didn't think much of it. i figured seeing that it was taken from my acct. was enough, long story short 2 years later my credit was hit for the full amount owed to sprint , now being 2 years later it is a nightmare trying to get anyone to help and the bank will take 3-5 days before the front and back of the check can be faxed .so i call allied , the answer i received we never had you in our system.

I owe nobody any bad debt, not a cent, yet got calls from this same group multiple times a day. I just spent the past hour on the phone (7 times - got hung up on twice), and nobody there would even confirm if this is a collection agency. I spoke with supervisor 'armando hinojosa' and he said it was illegal to say if his company in any way acted as a collections agency? As with so many other responses, all they would say is 'we never called you', but I and my caller ID are not imagining these calls...

They called me from (253) 218-3449
Allied Interstate.
I called the following number 775 319-1506 to get removed from their lists.
Get this - they are calling not for anyone that lives with us, this is a former friend (never lived with us), it's been over 20 years since my wife was in his life. The guy has been in jail and must owe some money.
Hopefully they do remove me as promised. (24-48 hours)

Allied Interstate is a collection agency which has made its presence felt through all sorts of wrong reasons. It has become a regular phenomenon for Allied Interstate to violate Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the set of laws governing the guidelines for collection agencies.
Some of the common malpractices and harassing techniques used by Allied Interstate are:
Calling family members, relatives and friends of the debtor and threatening them over phone.
Making calls to the debtor on a regular basis without prior permission.
Wanting to settle debt issues without documenting it.
Using abusive languages while interacting with the debtor.
Allied Interstate have made it a practice to contact wrong person and who actually don't owe any money to anyone.
They review credit reports without any prior permission from anyone.
Allied Interstate make threatening calls to a debtor throughout the entire day up to 9 pm.
They also have the tenacity to harass a debtor throughout the whole year.
Allied Interstate will call you without leaving behind any contact numbers or email address. The only thing they leave behind is their mailing address which again is doubtful in many cases.
Follow-up with C&D (cease & desist) letter is absent.
Most of the above mentioned malpractices are violating FDCPA rules and hence you can sue them if you are facing any such problems from Allied Interstate Collection Agency.
In many cases it has been observed that they have called or contacted such person who doesn't owe them anything.

I started getting calls from them on a closed bank account that was settled with the bank directly over 3 years ago. I sent a certified cease and desist letter and I have the proof they received it. They quit calling for about week and now I'm getting 3-4 messages a day. What do I do to get rid of them????

While I and My husband have not received any calls from these people it turns out that my daughter and Mother in law have been. Tonight my daughter answered (she usually does not answer 800 numbers, figures they are asking for something) but when she did they asked for me. She has not lived at home for a long time, and my husband and I have been married for 38 years...so you KNOW my MIL has nothing to do with our bills. I have no idea who these people are calling my family about.

I don't know if you are still in need of the phone number for Allied Interstate but I got their number from our caller Id and then I was given another number by a manager that I spoke with...877-488-6437. Hope this helps you.

Sharing numbers wont help you much. Allied has many offices and many divisions. The computer system in one office wont necessarily interface with a data base from another. For example...student loan collections is ONLY accessible from the student loan office...doing a search at another office will yield nothing.
