I have heard that HSBC credit card company will sue. I presently owe them about $550.00. They offered a settlement and I would have loved to have taken them up on that but I didn't have the money at that time. Now they have turned me over to a "collection agency".. I called the collection agency and tried to work out a payment plan. . however, they wanted some money that particular day that I called. I had no money that day, but I was trying to make arrangement s for when I did get paid. The girl I was speaking with did not want to talk to me at all when she found out I was paying nothing on that day. She said she was marking me down for refussal to pay. She also said I was close to 120 days of non-paymnet.

QUESTION: How long do I have before they sue me?

Actually, in September I can probably pay them maybe $100.00 dollars.

Thank you for any help on this matter!!

Well, IMO the bank wouldn't bother to sue for the small amount of $550. The cost and effort of filing case wouldn't worth it.

However, it's hard to say how long they would take before initiating the lawsuit but IMO if you don't hear from them by the end of this month; call them up again in September when you'd have the $100 to negotiate a settlement.

It simply can be their scare tactic to make you pay.
