Marvall Violation?

they have been calling me for months now, i have no idea who or why they call.. i do not owe any loans, i thought it was contected to star cash processing but who knows? i am pretty sure they are illegal, i personally ignore their calls, though nothing was sent to my office.. what exactly did they send your job?

I'm thinking there is a connection with a payday lender. You will need to send them, (collection agency) a certified return receipt letter revoking their rights to ANY and ALL wage assignments you may of may not have signed, then, show a copy of this letter to your employer. This is just in case you may have signed a contract while borrowing money that stated (in fine print) they have the right to use a wage assignment if you default on your payments. Next time they call, tell them they now have 5 days after their first initial contact with you to send you a dunning letter, that is a federal law according to the FDCPA.

Bea2ls, the fax sent to the employer, which was scribbled and somewhat ledgible, says Employment verification and then refers to a Summons # . It then asks for Employee and Supervisor signature, dept, title, full or part time , monthly salary and next pay date.

Good gosh, if it's somewhat scribbled I certainly hope your employer is wise enough not to distribute your personal information to an unverified company who is requesting this information!! I would call the clerk of courts and ask them if there is a case pending with the summons # on this faxed paper. In fact, I would save that paper, scan it on my printer and upload it to the FTC when I filed a complaint. Something is mighty fishy here. You might also contact Bud Hibbs, google his website and send him an email with this info to see how he responds.

Did you get a telephone number? Try googling it and see what comes up. I googled the name and their name appears repeatedly on phone fraud/harassment sites. You might want to check them out with your States' financial regulatory agency and attorney general office. I certainly wouldn't send them anything nor would I provide any personal information based on what you've told us here.

i doubt they are legal and doubt they will sue.. their number is 716-923-7408 and they do show up on fraud sites.. they are in baffolo ny. they did not send me anything in writing so i did not send a dv. should i just send one? so far i have been avoiding all calls, i do not trust them and know i do not owe any payday lenders money.. :(

i would.just to keep these places honest.

ok, it is funny i did not even think to send them one! they sent me nothing in writing but i am sure i can find an address, i knew they were in baffalo, ny because they kept calling my parent's house for awhile and my mom asked the operator.. (i do not even live there! i will also include a c & d letter, too). I was so quick to dismiss them as nothing but harrassment that i did not even think to follow through as usual!! thanks everyone :)

Actually, I just noticed the fax number and that made it came in thru the cashier fax in service., and she put it on my desk. So it never made payroll.
I am looking today on the clrks website, but find nothing.... they haven't called back yet, and c&d and wage letters go today! I

Payday loan probably.. never heard of Marvall till now. There is one payday loan that I have faxed and emailed to pay off, but they refuse to take the monies... girl on other end yells at me and says collections! been trying to pay it off for 2 months. but sheso maybe it for this on.. also ckecked the clerks website...nothing.....

my guess is that's how they got your fax number to send it to your work.. i would not fax anyone on a work fax machine.. they appear to be collectors for payday lenders (illegal ones at that). i will find their address and post it here when i get a chance :)

Thanks.. I wonder if it is for the PDL, if I send them a money order of what is owed,$250.00, and C&D letter and wage revoke leterr, if that would work.???. or would it just be spinning wheels.....just talking out loud here.

i would not send them a dime until they can validate your debt, prove they should be collecting towards it and have payment arrangements sent to you in writing on their letterhead. i would send a debt validation letter, wage revoke (copy to your payroll) and a c & d with no payment, and i would send it ceritified mail return reciept only.

ya know what sucks, I am just starting to get back on my feet and this crap starts.. of course I was the stupid one to take out the pdl! . Was unemplyed for 6 months, then wife asks for seperation and get out of house WHILE still unemployed, finally get a job, but still fighting to stay afloat,move out of apt and in with a friend..then get sick :) ... thought it was going to get better! It will... just another bump in my travels.... sorry.. didn't mean to spill!

no problem, that's what we are here for.. i doubt they would validate anyway and i really would not give them anything unless they do. even if they did validate, which is a big if, you still can pay them on your own terms as you please.. they are an illegal company. i would prefer to make payment arrangements for the acutal place you borrowed but make sure it is what you can afford to pay back.. who do you owe? what state are you in? how much was borrowed and paid back? you may owe them nothing?
the letters mentioned are in a thread here somewhere.. i still have to find their physical address - if they even have one.

i looked them up on the BBB's webpage.. my phone operator said Baffolo NY but I do not know.. this is the address they provided:

They have a F rating and it says they do not have enough information to do a full report.
I am going to mail a certified letter to that address.

The loan was 200.00 plus the interest total = 250.00
I am in Florida. And nothing paid back. I have tried to pay them back. I had a problem with our direct depsoit, I called to let them know, my acct rep told me I needed to call by Monday at 10am, etc...(which I told her was impossible to do)So, because I did not call their office at the specific time I was given she ..my acct rep. refused to take payment and yelled she was sending me to collections! Nice huh?
So I have tried calling and faxing, emailing that I have the monies to pay off the loan, but I always get the same replies! I believe the PDL to be Kenwood

Called my job. Told my employee she was going to be arrested for obstruction if I didn't talk to them. Caller said his name was Investigator Elliott. SHe told him to contact me at home if he wanted to talk to me. Kept threatening to have my employee arressted and kept threatening to have my drivers license taken away. Said I would get a summons - I'm still waiting!

What you experienced today was highly illegal... Whoever got that call needs to make a complaint with FTC and the state's AG's office now!

Marval & Associates are now posing as Jacobson & Associates... I received a phone call on my voice mail at work as well as my cell phone from an "Agent Nash" who informed me I needed to call him or have my criminal attorney call him immediately to make a statement ... I had a payday loan that I wasn't able to pay back then only reason I knew was for this as he needed to speak to 2 people I used as a reference ... how legal is it for a collection agency to say they are with the police dept from my county calling in from a totally different state? Is there something that can be done to make sure this doesn't happen again?
