Hi: I live in Maryland and had been set up on payment arrangement with Comptroller of Treasury (State Tax) from 2007. They told me that they would work with me and now it has been turned over to NCO. Does anyone know about this company and why they would turn it over to them?

Thanks

They are just a collections agency, I am sure they are just being paid to administer the account or they purchased the account. I have worked with NCO before...you can make payments online, it is nice. I never had a problem with them.

I have made payments to NCO before. After about 4 months of making the payments that were agreed, in writing, they started demanding payment in full immediately. I went ahead and settled with them for a paid in full letter, just to be done with it. If you make an arrangement with them, make sure it is in writing before you give them anything.

Thanks everyone for your advice:). I was worried, I never heard of a tax debt being sold to just a regular collection agency. Especially in Maryland, they take everything they can get:)
