I don't know anything about the insurance paid. but i do know that HSBC was a huge PIA to us. We had a 4 wheeler and paid for 2 years, but by the time the special offer reset we were already in financial trouble and had signed up with a debt settlement co. so we could not afford the tripled payment that we now had with suzuki. They were the most aggressive of all (and we had 3 credit cards). They called my work, called my supervisor and "blew up" his voicemail -- which he was very unhappy about. It was horrible. They were viscious on the phone. And then again we tried to settle this one one our own. i made a withdrawal from my 401k (stupid i know) for 1/2 the amount we owed and tried to negoitate on my own with them. While we were talking to one dept of HSBC about working out a deal, i would get messages on the phone the same day saying that i was not working with them. WTF??? Finally we just added them to our settlement program cause i couldn't take the calls anymore. They also called my work for about a week after they recieved (certified mail) my letter asking them to stop calling my work.
So we added them to our program and took that 4,000 and put it in our account and then were able to settle our Chase account. 5 months later we got a settlement offer from HSBC for only 590.00 more then the amount we offerd to pay before. They are aggressive, annoying, and apparently stupid.

Generally, the insurance you pay for will only pay in the case or unemployment, or disability. I have never seen one that will pay if you cannot afford it.
