I had received a call a couple of weeks ago from NRS stating that I needed to pay them around $300 on an old AT & T bill. I told the guy, who says his name is Jason Gray, that I did not have my checking account info. He asked the name of my bank and he found the routing number. I told him I did not know the acct. # and didn't have the number with me at work. He said he would make up a number and I could call back with the right number. I told him no but apparently he proceeded anyway. Obviously the check by phone was returned. He is now threatening to file bad check charges against me. Can they do that and if not what are my options. I have the conversation on tape. Thanks for your help

if you have the call on tape.then you also have you saying no to debiting.he broke the law in doing that.he can't and won't do anything but call and threaten.NRS is a bottomfeeder collector.i would tape a couple more calls, and go to NACA.NET.there you will find a consumer attorney in your area to sue NRS.they broke the law in the calls they made, and should be sued.in short you can't go to jail, and he is a bottomfeeder that broke the law,and is lying to get you to pay.

no,because you never gave him any permission to debit.he broke the law doing that.still look into a lawsuit as the threats are illegal.he can't do what he threatened.just know that.
