I sent a dv letter to a collection agency.
I got no response, and then yesterday , I got a letter from the collection agency telling me that they closed the file and were sending the claim back to the original creditor.
What does that mean ?

it means that they couldn't validate.i would check with the OC.chances are they sold it,but they could have returned it to the OC.

All it means at this point is it will be resold and another agency or law firm will be attached to attempt collection. If this CA could not validate the debt then chances are neither will the new CA they sell the debt to. Just continue validating the debt and you should be fine.
