Ok - I am so freakin mad right now I'm shaking. So I have this small installment loan out with a place called Security Finance and it's about $450 and I pay once a month. (I know, should not have got the loan but that's another issue) Anyway, I'm not even 30 days past due yet and the guy shows up at my job today. I couldn't believe it, The receptionist called me and said he was waiting for me and I had no clue what to do, I was so embarrassed. I walked about half over to where he was sitting and just gave him an evil look. He walked towards me and I asked for him to leave and that I will come see him later. I was trying to whisper and he just kept talking. He finally left and I had to pretend that he was a customer, I told the receptionist he came for a package. Luckily the office was empty this morning. I did not know creditors were allowed to show up at your place of employment, that is absurd.

It's just secured by a Wage assignment which I can revoke. I work for a large financial institution and my HR rep told me they don't honor Wage assignments and they only deal with court ordered documents. I did end up talking to him later that day after he blew my cell phone and work phone up and he apologized for coming to my job.

Today when I went downstairs to the retail area, one of the tellers asked me.." Hey did so an so from Security Finance find you" I was so embarrassed. I again acted like he was a customer and said yeah I just gave him a packet of info.

could you imagine having to do that to people for a living. that would be a horrible job. i would be afraid of p'ing of the wrong person and get beat up or shot or somthing. especially in todays world people are so stressed out they might snap. its bad enough they call you all the time and your refrences. but to show up at your work and home. maybe one day these people will wake up and realize they have a consence. but then again, probably not.

i agree, i imagine it must be dangerous, especially going to someone's home! i personally would not speak to anyone who came, i would tell them to leave, and than threaten to call the police. if they did not leave, i would. i do not care if they are legally allowed to do this, i still say it is very wrong.

Creditors should not be allowed to come to your work, or office, except in Repo matters etc...! How greedy can one get..., to show up at someone's job. Don't they realize that by showing up at someone's job, that they could possibly get the person that owes them the money fired, and than how will a person pay them back? AARRGh :x !
