Hello, I've been reading up on a lot of helpful info on this site and wanted to know if someone could assist me in getting rid of my payday loans. I currently have 4 of them and need them to stop debiting my account every month. I know I got myself into this mess and need to get myself out, but its so hard with other bills and such. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! My info is below-

Loan 1-
1800899CASH
Amount of loan- $600
Amount paid back - $521.15

Loan 2-
Authorized Payday
Amount of loan- $200
Amount paid back- $120

Loan 3-
Tendollarpaydayloan
Amount of loan- $300
Amount paid back- $300

Loan 4-
Paradise Cash Advance
Amount of loan- $500
Amount paid back- $375

I live in the state of VA, they are all online payday loans. Thanks again!

Read the sticky on dealing with illegal payday lenders. The very first post explains what to do and has links to sample letters you can send. The first thing you will need to do is close your bank account and take control back of your money, then we can help you figure it out step by step. You can do this on your own! We have all been exactly where you are. Feel free to ask any questions you have along the way!

Update-
I was unable to close my bank account because I have a car loan associated with it. However, I was able to place blocks on each company. Will the blocks actually work? My bank stated that if the charges go through, they will refund the money. I have also sent out a letter to each payday loan company, but have yet to hear anything from them.

Am I on the right track? Any suggestions as to what I should do next? I also changed my direct deposit to go into another account of mine.

Will someone please assist me? Two of the payday lenders have contacted me, trying to come to a conclusion. One company, 80899CASH.com, states that I owe $720. The other, Tendollarpaydayloan, states that I owe $300. From my first post, you can see that I've paid both companies plenty of money. I would like to just resolve everything, but I think I'm still being screwed out of a lot of money. What should I do??

In VA Internet payday lenders are not legal, either because of restrictive laws, or because the state does not license companies not located in that state, but requires a state issued license to lend. NONE of your lenders are licensed lenders in your state. Please read the following link on how to deal with illegal lenders, follow the steps, read it thoroughly, don't skip any steps. All you need to pay these lenders are what you originally borrowed to begin with, nothing more. My suggestion, pay them via certified mail with money orders, tell them, no address, no payments. RE your bank not closing your account; did you talk to the branch manager? I can't see why closing the account would be a problem, you should certainly be able to transfer anything legitimate that's tied to that checking account to a new account. I mean, what if your checkbook was stolen, I'd think in THAT instance they'd be able to close the account? At any rate, I'd double-check on that... As far as blocking the particular companies from making withdrawals; that MIGHT work but the problem is, so many of the PDL's operate under different names and if you blocked one name from debiting your account they might just try using another name. If your bank said they'd refund any debits from your account that's great but I think I'd want THAT in writing. Please keep us posted.

Update #2-
Its been a while and I thought I had all of these guys off my back. I was able to close my account and reopen with a different account number.
I've recently recieved a call from a collection company saying they will send it to the courts to get full payment from tendoallarpaydayloan.com. I explained to the person on the phone that I've already paid back the principal amount, but they just didn't listen. They told me that I can settle for $400, and that is a great deal considering I owe $580+. Is this call something I should be worried about??

I doubt if they will follow through because they KNOW that payday loans aren't legal in your state. They would be fools to even think about walking into a court of law, the judge would throw their arses in jail! I would tell them to go piss up a rope, then I would tell them I would see them in court and explain that if they are stupid enough to TRY and sue you, and brave enough to run the risk of spending time in the can then GO FOR IT! Pay them ONLY what you borrowed, tell them you need an address to send payments, remember, YOU call the shots now, pay them what you can, when you can pay it, via the mail with money orders, if they won't accept it then it's their problem not yours. Tell them no address means no payments, the end.
