Debt Validation Question

A CA is saying I owe money for a gym membership contract. I agree that I signed a contract with a gym. I under California state law cancelled the contract. The CA is saying that I owe the money because I didnt legally cancel my contract under the terms of my contract. Shouldnt they have a copy of the signed contract to validate that?

They probably do, but these CAs will try anyway because most people will go ahead and pay it rather than stand up and fight for their rights. If you canceled it according to Calif law as you say, then send the CA a Cease & Desist letter.
