I have just sent out my letters to

discountadvances
oneclickcash
nationwidecash
mycashnow
staradvance
kenwood services

If it doesnt bother anyone I would like to keep the forum updated...Im sure I will need all the support I can get. As of this writing I feel sick. Hopefully, it will all work out.

thank you

It will all be ok! I was in the same boat as you a few months ago. Man, I was just sick to my stomach with worry!! I set up Extended Payment Plans for 2 of my loans and, considering my circumstances at the time, they were easy to work with. I e-mailed and faxed my C&D letters to Discount Advances and Cash Transfer Centers daily for about 3 weeks. I was expecting the worst...threats at work, wage assignments, harrassment of my references and constant calls on my phone. Boy was I wrong. So far I have received 1 phone call from CTC the day after my loan was to be paid on my work phone. I told the lady that I could not and would not accept personal calls at work -she said ok and that was that. I have received a few form letter e-mails from each company that make no sense whatsoever. One actually quoted me a "settlement" that was about 1000.00 more than what I owed. After each one I would print the e-mail, type a response and fax/e-mail them immediately. That is it. I still send my refund and PIF requests weekly but I haven't heard anything from either company in a month now at least. I will not stop hounding them until I have my PIF. Good luck to you both!!

I can't imagine you'll "bother" anyone here, as most of us have been in the same situation at one time or another. It takes work and, frankly speaking, you WILL get phone calls, etc., from the PDL's, but hang tough and you'll make it through. If you have questions, this is the place to get 'em answered, please don't think ANY question is "dumb." Keep us posted!

Update # 2. I have a loan from Kenwood for 300, I paid 90 thus far. ( overpaid on previous paid in full loans ). They got the letter from me saying I will gladly pay the remaining 210. Here is their response..

Your bank has returned your account to us ???account closed???. Your current balance is $510.00, but we are willing to defer some of the service charges that have accumulated on your account. I am in NY

You may settle your account with Kenwood Services for $390.00, but you must contact us immediately. It is important for your future credit standing that you contact our office at once.

If you fail to contact us regarding this matter we will be forced to report your outstanding account to the customer credit reporting agencies. Contact our office before 5:00 pm EST to avoid any further action on your account. If we do not hear from you before 5:00 pm EST today, a total balance of $510.00 plus a $265.00 collection charge will be owed. After 5:00 pm EST today, no settlement will be available and Kenwood Services LLC will not be able to assist you.

Advice from the experts ?
I already have a case in with BBB of Delaware

Ha ha, I would tell them to shove it where the sun doesn't shine! If they do report it to a CRA, all you will need to do is dispute it on the grounds it was an illegal loan to begin with and they aren't licensed to lend to N.Y. residents, also include the payday loan laws for the state of N.Y., that is IF they report it. Otherwise, like I said, I would tell them you will pay XXXX amount of dollars via a money order, in payments that will suit your budget. YOU are holding the ball here, not them. If they want ANYthing at all from you they will abide by your terms ONLY, or, tell them to go ahead and sue you. Of course you realize they wouldn't dare walk into a court of law, but they will threaten you, that's about all it would amount to though, a threat. Also tell them, no address means NO payments. Tell them they have 24 hrs to decide and if you don't hear from them you will consider the loan PAID IN FULL. That's what I would do, but you can do whatever you feel comfortable doing. :)

I just got this from CPD in regard to either discountadvances, overpaid, or mycashnow, still owe $133 counting everything Ive paid so far...

We have received information from your bank that you have closed the account, which you authorized to be debited in order to repay your legally binding loan obligation. We consider this to be a refusal to repay your debt and will immediately initiate action to protect our interest. We must require that you render your payment in the amount of $275.00 via western union quick collect or moneygram immediately. This payment reflects your balance as of September 10th 2009.

We may also initiate other action, which may include, but not be limited to, obtaining legal representation, (which would create additional charges to you), if we do determine that a request be made for service or a court appearance for a possible judgment be issued against you for the repayment of this legally binding debt.

Depending on the circumstances surrounding how you obtained the loan, we may also initiate internal investigation to ensure all information submitted on the loan application was accurate and not done fraudulently in order to attempt to obtain a loan under false pretenses.

You need to go to Western Union and get the BLUE QUICK COLLECT FORM (or go to www.westernunion.com and choose the quick collection option)

1. COMPANY NAME: CREDIT PROTECTION DEPOT
2. CODE CITY: OFFER (ONE WORD NO SPACES).
3. STATE: NEVADA
4. ACCOUNT #: Your Social Security Number
5. The reference # is Your Telephone Number

You can also use your debit card or various charge cards at www.westernunion.com

OR you can go to Moneygram and get the BLUE EXPRESSPAYMENT FORM
1. The Company name is: CPD-OFFER
2. The Receive Code is: 4243
3. The City is: Las Vegas
4. The State is: Nevada
5. The Account Number is: 1432384274

If you are unable to pay $275.00 for the entire balance on the loan then we must require a minimum payment of $91.67 place the account on hold.

If this account is referred for further review and action to our outside firm for additional collection efforts, it will commence activity on the account to be done to the fullest extent of the law in order to protect our interest in this matter. At that point, you will be responsible for all additional fees associated with costs involved for the collection of this debt.

Please call us immediately with the Control Number of your wire in order to update your account and to avoid other action and charges to you.

I would highly suggest you call 1-866-645-1661 to resolve this matter immediately. This is the only way for you to resolve this very serious situation, which you have initiated. Your failure to do so may result in the above-mentioned action being taken

Thank you,

Credit Protection Depot

Should I call them ? ( dont really want to ) or just keep sending the letter to them.......
