Collection time fram

I was sent to collections for a urgent care visit the insuance company processed incorrectly...I disputed and it was re-processed correctly. Urgent care sent the 147.00 to collections I have since sent in all new EOB's and a copy of an emial as to when urgent care was paid and that I the patient is only responsible for the co-pay which i have paid.
The collection company since the beginning of August has acknowleded the fax of all inusrance information and agress I do not owe this money. I have called everyday and the collection company tells me everyday that they have not had a response from urgent care billing company to rectify the incorrect collection and monies owed.
Is there not a time frame to settle a dispute when documentation has been submitted to prove the debt is not owed??? I live in AZ the collection company is in CA.
Thanks

Since you are not a revenue producing account, you take no priority. The CA could care less. They are simply waiting to close the account or will eventually close and return it.

Apart from Texas I know of no other state that has a time limit to settle a dispute. Only in TX a collection company is required to reply to a DV letter within 30 business days of receiving it. Otherwise, as Chrys has said they can take their time as long as they don't continue with collection activities.
