I was summoned for a credit card debt. I filed an answer and now they sent me these forms for me to have notarized and returned. They are called non-uniform interrogatories, request for admissions, request for production of documents, initial disclosure statement, and notice of service of initial disclosure statement. What are these and is it necessary. there is no court date yet. please help. they want these returned within 40 days

yeah, this is called the discovery process. you are now a willing participant in the litigation process and you must follow court rules. you can furnish requests for similar information from the plaintiff. if you're in over your head contact legal aid. furthermore, DO NOT IGNORE THESE DOCUMENTS. if you do a summary judgment will be granted against you... and good luck vacating summary judgment. what is the basis of your answer? nows a good time to request validation of debt.
