I guess it differs from company to company. I wonder if any direct link can be established between the two. Some companies are known to be more lenient towards settlement, when some others wouldn't waste time in suing you.

some would say yes this is a good idea while others would say absolutely not. but to me this is a personal choice if you would do that, what would you do with the rest of the money? do you still have alot of debt? is it a possibility that you can get that 4,000 reduced? or is that thier settlement offer?
