Help with FastCash Personal Loans

I need some advice on dealing with fast cash personal loans. My original loan amount was $250, and the debt is now at about $700. A group called "National Credit Adjusters" is currently trying to collect the debt, but I have had no luck working with them. I received a call from them they would settle the debt for around $400 but I had to pay it by 12:00 (noon) or they would "file against me" in a county where I used to live. I asked the woman on the phone to send me a letter of debt verification, she refused and said she couldn't provide me with anything until I paid, which obviously isn't legal. So I told her I wasn't sending any money anywhere until they provided me with the letter. They didn't, and obviously no "filings were made against me." The problem is is that I asked if they would be willing to work out a payment plan and she told me no several times, and now this $700 debt is showing up on my credit report. I am trying so hard to get my credit cleaned up, but that's rather difficult when no one will work with you. So if anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it!

FastCash Personal Loan forwards payday advances, right? If so then they have to abide by the state pdl laws.
-Which state are you from?
-Are they storefront or internet?
-How much have you paid them so far?
Further, you have done the right thing by not sending any payment to the settlement company. You're right that they need to send proper validation before making efforts to collect against it.
Have they sent you the dunning letter? They are required to send you the dunning letter within five days after their initial contact. And yeah, pls remember to make all communications with the CA in writing; send them letters with return receipt request. If you browse through this site, you'd definitely learn more about dealing with collection agencies.

National Credit Adjusters seems to collect for quite a few illegal lenders. Unless your contract states this was a personal loan, than they are ILLEGAL in Texas. They are NOT listed as a CSO (Credit Service Organization) either. Take a look at the original contract, were you suppose to make payments on this or pay the total amount on your payday? You need to differentiate whether this was a payday loan or personal loan. After you have that figured out we can give you advice on how to deal with NCA.
