I've been going back and forth with The Loan Shop Online in regards to a payday loan that I got for $100. Long story short I kept haggling back and forth with them since I had already paid $45 but they wanted the $100 plus $15 processing fee. In the state of IA internet payday loans are illegal and told them as much expressing that I would gladly pay them the principal amount ONLY.

Here's the email that I received back from them.

The amount you will need to resolve this matter is $100.00
You can mail payment to: The Loan Shop Online
2207 Concord Pike #250
Dover, DE 19803-2908
p.s. at minimum I would suggest you remit the $55.00 with will only leave the ???disputed??? amount of $45.00 outstanding!

My question is this: Are they 'agreeing' to the $55.00 that I have outstanding to pay and if I send them a payment for that amount will they come back and haunt me for the $45? The amount I've already paid?

Hi trish,
if you have already disputed the amount ask for validation of the debt. have them give a records of all payments they have received from you.
Do you have proof that you paid the $45? Cancelled check, money order.
Dispute this with your credit reporting agency. If they cant validate the correct info you may be able to have the account removed because they are reporting incorrect information. the Fair credit reporting act states they have to report correct and accurate info.

Best of luck
