Advice about Summit Group

I don't think summit grp is legal in my state and I am wondering if I should file a complaint with my state right now about this and send another email to the email address I have with summit grp.
Please any suggestions.

I would say yes you should file a complaint. From what I have learned in this forums is that they have to provide the proof of the debt in writing. That means emails are not an acceptable form of proof.

I wouldn't contact these people again, don't accept their calls and don't acknowledge them. If they leave a message on your phone that is threatening in ANY way KEEP IT! Then you can upload it to your state attorney generals site and the Federal Trad Commission's site and include it in your complaint. Beware of lenders who call and make empty threats saying you owe a debt, legit lenders or collection agencies know the law and abide by it. Read up on your rights, google FDCPA and do a search on this site for The Summit group, just type in the name of the company into the search box located in the upper right hand corner of this forum. Never agree to owing a debt over the telephone from ANYone, the law states you as a debtor have the right to receive a letter of collection via the mail.
