SOL on credit report
Date: Sun, 10/04/2009 - 09:03
I am just starting to work on my credit report. I know items are supposed to fall off after 7 years. I have some items that were originally reported in 2002. So, they should be falling off. However, I notice the creditor reported again in 2/2009 so this keeps the negative file going. Is there any way to stop this?? It shows original date was 2002 but can I do anything to stop the reporting?

Federal reporting period is 7 years + 180 days from the date of First Default. Is 2002 the DOFD or the date the account was first reported?
