Response to DV letter

CMI is coming after my husband for a Comcast Cable account and we sent a DV letter to them.
Well, we got a response back but instead of validating the debt, it said "we are verifying the account with the original creditor." This IS NOT validation, is it? I thought validation entailed us receiving more information than this.

no it isn't.check to see if they continue to contact.unless they

I just wished I had read a few more threads about DV letters.....I signed all of mine!!!!! I didn't know you shouldn't do that.
