Ok I've read they're illegal in PA. I took one out before knowing this, I was desperate and needed the money badly. Now, 4 months later after they've taken more than the loan amount and I closed my checking account, they are contacting me on my cell day in and day out. I got a call from a Damiano and Associates from New Jersey for some reason, with no explanation, and am assuming its because of this. I contacted one of these free lawyers that takes care of these things and wrote to him today.

On United's site they say my Payoff Amount is $600. Under payment history it says I paid $210 on 8/19/09. I don't remember doing this but even if I did, thats more than half of the original loan and I should only owe them $90.

The reason I canceled my account in the first place was because i was constantly getting charged $45 every week as refinance charges. I read that these are illegal as well and so I cancelled the account after it was overdrafted by the loan company multiple times.

So my question is. If I contacted this lawyer, will he settle this for me and get them in trouble or will I have to go to court? The loan is illegal in my state so do I have to pay back the rest at all? What should I do?

I wrote to the pa dept of banking and complained about them. Aldo like I said some guy called me. The number is listed as new jersey and I dont know what he wanted. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize but he called the two references I usd for my loan and when I looked up his name it was a financial advisor firmnor something. Ucl says I owe them 600 and the refinance fees they charges me were illegal weren't they?

Today someone from the same number except fir one digit called me and said they were Sokol law office. She said it was important I call back because of the finalization that was forwarded to their office. I don't know if united cash loans is going to a lawyer or what. I printed out one of those letters and am going to mail it o them saying I'll pay the principal and that's it. Also that I reported them to state atorney general and all which I've done. Any advice?

Well I found out the number these people were giving me, from these so called attorneys offices were actually from David Taylor and associates which is a big scam collection agency according to ripoffreport.com. Anyonebhere recognize this name? Does united cash loans use them to do their dirty work?

United Cash Loans and their affiliates are the biggest pains, aren't they? Other PDL's I've dealt with have gone away but UCL still keeps calling; that's ok, as long as they don't mind me hanging up every time they call! Every once in a while, if I'm in a good mood, I'll ask them how things are down on the reservation - that's even made them hang up on ME! (smile)
