Hi,

Just found this site and have been reading the posts. I am getting calls from a John Alexander. He says he is from "National Payday Loans" and he gave me this phone number,
727-362-1242.

He knows my name, my bank account number, my social security number, date of birth, and the whole 9 yards. He said he is calling because I took out a payday loan, and have never attempted to repay it. And that it was deposited into my checking account.

Now this is where it gets interesting...........I HAVE NEVER TAKEN OUT A PAYDAY LOAN, AND I KNOW FOR SURE THAT NOTHING HAS BEEN DEPOSITED INTO MY BANK ACCOUNT.

My checking account has been under fraud alert for the past 7 months. My account is at US BANK and was placed on fraud alert after someone printed checks with my name on them and presented them to the bank for payment. So my bank froze my account 7 months ago and nothing can be deposited or drafted from my account. This John Alexander guy calling from National Payday Loans says the loan was taken out 3 months ago and was deposited into my account and he then gives me the account number.....and it is the correct account number for the frozen account. So I know he is lying as per nothing can be deposited or drafted. I even called the bank again to make for sure after his first call.

Now John Alexander calls me at least once per day threatening me for internet fraud, saying he is going to send his "agents" to my place of business and to my residents.

You all seem to be very wise, so what should I do? Like I said I have never taken out a payday loan with these people or anyone for that matter! I found this site through google.

But if I hang up and do not acknowledge them are they going to file something bogas on my credit report. I swear I have never taken out a payday loan with National Payday Loan or anyone. lol I did not even know what it was until I googled it. I was not aware that people could and actually would get loans against their paychecks "online".

Now I have another question??? Where in the world did these people get all my personal information, such as my ss number, account number, telephone number (mine is non-published) and my date of birth? Should I be very concerned about idenity theft at this point?

I don't know but it's very scary. If they do place something on your credit report all you need to do is dispute it, it will be up to them to prove to the CRA that the loan obtained was valid.
