Chase is calling four times per day....thank goodness I am at work most of the time. I have spoken with them twice in the past five days. Told them I could not pay right now. They ask if I've heard about the hardship program. I have put them off twice about that saying I was too busy to give financial info (kids in the shower, etc....the truth).

But I don't want a hardship program. What do I tell them when they call? Just that I can't pay now and don't want to go into a program? Won't that tell them to come after me??

Amex started calling today too. An actual person with a name and extension number told me to call her back between 8-4:30. Gee, I am at work then.

Chase is two weeks late; Amex just less than that.

Are you planning to try and settle with them? If so, I wouldn't answer their calls, the longer you wait, the better the settlement you will get. My bf was offered a 45% off settlement and he is over 6 months past due.

The more you talk with them, the more they will call. Don't answer the phone and save your money, if you can. When you are ready to settle then pick up the phone. They will not do anything for six months. Take care of yourself and children first and settle with them if you can.
