Medical collections that are not mine!

I am trying to refinance my home and there is a collection agency called medicredit on my report for something that is definitely not mine. They have my name, social sec. # but wrong date of birth, and wrong address. This charge was dated 1996 and just reported in Aug. 09. They refuse to help me at all get this resolved. I have asked to speak to supervisors and get the run around. What should I do?

Dispute the validity of the debt....by law they must either validate the debt or remove it. In the meantime they must mark it as disputed. However this should not be reporting as it is past the 7 year reporting SOL.
