I have a debt that is on my credit report from RJM ACQUISITIONS LLC -But is from a creditor that i do owe in and the SOL has not ran out I spoke with a rep and she indicated that I could pay half I requested for her to send to me in writing that if I pay this amount would they removed from my credit report. Once they since me this letter and a meet my obligations would they have the right to come back after me for the remaining portion.

You definitely want to see any settlement agreement in writing before you send them a dime. It needs to be typed/printed on their letterhead, and signed in ink by a person authorized to make such a deal. The agreement itself should cover the specifics of the account, how much they're settling for, and state that this agreement represents settlement in full (if that's the case). You should also insist on a clause stating that any remaining balance can not by sold or assigned to any other collector or third party.

I am currently dealing with them regarding a debt. I'd rather deal with them than anyone else. When you talk to them over the phone they are polite. I was only able to send then $10.00 a month at one time and they accepted it no questions asked. Then I lost my job and have not been able to send them anything. They just sent me a settlement offer for 70% off what I owe.

Once you pay a settlement amount BY LAW since it is in writing they have no reason to come back to yuo for the rest. This is the second bill that I have dealt with them on.
